The most beautiful trail in Glacier National Park.

We started after work at 4pm on sunday to hitchhike and soon found a ride at 4.40 pm. We were on the trail as soon as me arrived at many glacier and got to Elizabeth lake at 10.30 pm where we slept. We started hiking around 7 am and saw cosley lake and stoney indian pass, eventually reaching the Goat Haunt shelter around 7 pm. the next morning was spent sleeping in and later hiking to Waterton. We walked around town and enjoyed our first time in Canada where we got the opportunity to sleep in the Prince of Wales hotel employee housing! The next day was spent hitchhiking across the border back to East Glacier.

ReplyDeleteCompletely agree with your summation of the Belly River trail to Goat Haunt. Most beautiful in the park. My very first backpacking experience was up that drainage to Mokowanis Junction and dayhiked up as far as just above Atsina Lake to that amazing perch looking down the valley.Very cool photos. And I must say, my compliments on your taste in backpacks. I carry an REI Flash as well and love it. Cheers!
